My Will Be Done
The morning starts as normal with the kids ignoring Ben. Susan enters in funeral clothing and Ben has forgotten it was the funeral of her best friend.
Susan says they must be prepared as they could be snuffed out at any time.
Ben feels the kids ignore him, and as if that isn’t bad enough he finds out Abi hasn’t been paying rent. He makes her a tenant! Susan reveals that she has learned Ben is about to die over the internet and now needs to plan the perfect funeral.
Ben goes to ask Michael for help, on Date with Death.com. After a few questions Michael works out Ben has 67 weeks to live! Abi starts to assert her tenants rights. She has two hours of her choice of TV daily.
Nick arrives, wearing a top hat and tails, he is an official mourner at the local undertakers. Ben asks where he has been for the last 6 months, Nick has been going round and round on the central line! Nick joins in with suggestions for a ‘special’ funeral for Ben. Ben is becoming upset with all the funeral talk and when Susan suggests he make a will, he thinks the kids will suddenly start to take notice of him and be helpful towards him! Susan plans what she should wear to Ben’s funeral to look her most attractive and also thinks they should appoint a guardian for Michael. Ben suggests Roger as Michael would hate it.
Nick has brought ice home for Ben’s whisky, and before he has decides to leave Nickhis money he wants to make sure he is a responsible adult! When he looks at Nick he has chopsticks up his nose.! Then he tells Ben he got the ice from the mortuary.
Susan has bought the music that Ben would like for his funeral but he is not allowed to listen to it until he dies. Ben decides to call a family meeting when the kids turn up there is a terrible smell, Nick has had a go at embalming his leg. None of the children can come up with anything nice to say about Ben, they can’t even say they love him for his money, so he rips up Abi’s rentbook and decides to make her his sole beneficiary. Nick has been fired for doing hand brake turns in a hearse. He has also brought home a little memento, a coffin. Abi thinks Nick has killed Ben and he is dead and in the coffin.
Ben wants Susan to be distraught when he dies, like she was when the goldfish dies. Ben then comes up behind Abi who becomes incredibly upset because Ben isn’t dead. Ben climbs into the coffin to give Susan a fright. Two undertakers arrive on the doorstep, looking for a stolen coffin. They assume Nick has taken it, and when then they see it in the lounge and wheel it away.
When Nick comes home it dawns on him that Ben has been taken away too. They race to the funeral parlour where Ben has just woken up and isn’t too sure where he is. Back at home Ben has called yet another meeting, although he has completed his Will he has found an online site that has given him another 40 years to live, so he tears it up.
