The Psyche of Mikey
Susan is concerned that everything is changing, and is even more so when Michael announces he is seeing a therapist. She is worried that her poor baby could have serious problems and wants to talk to Michael’s therapist whereas Ben thinks a father-son chat will sort things out. His initial move is to snoop around in Michael’s bedroom – Susan has the same idea – but they are both caught out when Michael appears and what they overhear seems to confirm the boy needs help!
Ben decides they should indeed visit the therapist to try and find out what Michael’s problems are. On being told that Doctor Twelvetree is on holiday, Ben and Susan decide they cannot wait two-weeks and sneak back into the office behind the Receptionists’ back. They are then trapped until she goes home – but she sets an alarm and they then become locked in. They decide they may as well look at Michael’s file and find it in a cabinet – only Susan has second doubts and they decide against reading it.
Ben attempts to de-activate the alarm system by cleverly using applied logic in decoding the passcode – but this lets him down and they set the alarm off then beat a hasty exit.
Later that night, having been bailed out of custody by Michael, Ben & Susan return home. Michael explains that he is studying how patients get treated as part of his psychology class and if only they’d asked he could have explained everything. Relieved, Ben and Susan still think they’re good parents
