My Family Wins Rose d’Or

Wednesday 16th September 2009

London 6, May 2009. Don Taffner Jr, President of DLT Entertainment is celebrating after picking up the best sitcom award for My Family, at the 49th annual Rose d’Or Festival on Monday night (5 May 2009). The show beat stiff competition from three Channel 4 programmes nominated in the same category; Free Agents, Plus One and The Inbetweeners along with four other shows from around the world.

This is the second Rose d’Or awarded to My Family following Zoë Wanamaker’s best actress award in 2005. It is the latest award bestowed on the hit comedy in recent years adding to the TV Quick Award for Best Comedy Show, 2007, Most Popular Comedy Programme at the National TV Awards, 2003, and Best Newcomer for Kris Marshall, at the 2002 British Comedy Awards.

Don Taffner Jr, President of DLT Entertainment, said “It’s fantastic that after nearly ten years the show is still winning awards and receiving recognition from our industry peers. So far, May has been a busy month for DLT with the award and the transmission of the landmark 100th episode of My Family”.

My Family remains the UK’s favourite sitcom, and also travels well, selling into many international territories including BBC America, ABC Australia and Nickelodeon Comedy in Germany.

My Family has clocked up an impressive 100 episodes in just nine years, and is only one of three ‘modern day’ UK sitcoms to reach the 100 mark. The 100th episode guest stars John Barrowman (Torchwood) and David Haig (Four Weddings and a Funeral).

The show is produced by DLT Entertainment UK in association with Rude Boy Productions. It is produced by John Bartlett and executive produced by Don Taffner Jnr and Tom Anderson for DLT Entertainment.
